Selfishness is an innate characteristic or nature that all human beings must outgrow. Those who do not outgrow this stage become what we call narcissists.

Even when they appear to be doing good, they do it for themselves. When they show love, it is all about them and public displays of affection.

Great leaders know how to transcend selfishness, set their own needs aside for a while, and focus on the needs of people who naturally ask, “What is in it for me?” Your level of influence is directly proportional to your level of investment. You cannot have influence without first making an investment.
